Recent happenings. :)

Summertime is here and that means a few things. 1. Trips & 2. Madi gets to spend time at gram and pappy's house. When I was in school madi would go to their house when I would go to Farmington for labs. So Madison is always asking when springtime comes around when she gets to go. So Brian and I were planning a trip to go see our newest nephew, and my dad was making a trip through so we were able to meet up and make the hand off. :) she was so excited to go and to just have time with pappy. This was her face when I asked her if she was up for making the trip with just her and pappy.

I was a little nervous but the trip went great. Pappy said she did awesome. So proud of that little girl.

She's so fun!

We went to the Hardin day festivities and enjoyed an elephant ear and Indian taco. :)

On our trip to Utah we made a pit stop to stretch our legs and throw some rocks in the river. Everyone loves throwing rocks. Madi has some awesome form and mason was getting help from dad but was laughing so hard every time a rock flew. We were all laughing so hard because mason was laughing so hard.
Look at that form.

When she's at Grammies house she goes to the library activities. So she got her very own library card, she was pretty pumped about it.
The new books for the week.
Studious little girl. Working on her work sheets.
Heading out with new shoes!! Love being spoiled by grammie.

Meanwhile in Utah Brian, mason and I were visiting Brian's sister's family. She just had a baby and we got in some great little baby snuggles!! It's so much fun holding tiny babies.... And I'm realizing how great it is to have little nephews and nieces! Because they have moms and dads who take over when they are crying. :) so much less stress. Lol :)
I'm so sad, I don't have any pictures with my nephew! I didn't capture any moments of my baby snuggles, and it makes me really sad. But it was pretty fun to snuggle him and meet him.

Another great thing about going to Utah was......... The Cheesecake Factory!!!
We love that place. Everything about it. The dinner, the desserts, the drinks..... Love it. :)
So we went and enjoyed some yummy food we have longed for at least a year. Brian had the chicken costeletta and I had the chicken tacos. It was so delicious. Oh and I had a raspberry lemonade and Brian had a peach raspberry smoothie. Then the cheesecake was amazing!! Brian had the red velvet, and I had lemon raspberry. I see now a trend in my decisions. Lots of lemon and raspberry. It was so so delicious.

Love this face.

Happiness
So yummy.... I believe billings should get one soon.

I have included some updated pics of my flowers.  I wish I was a better gardner. But as a beginner I'm pretty happy with what I've gotten to grow. But hopefully I can get better.
I love these lillies that the previous owners planted.

This was my pot that struggled for a long time, but has pleasantly surprised me. I'm pretty happy with how it has turned out.

My pallet project. :) it makes me happy. The July heat is testing its ability to live and mine to water it but seems like it is doing ok.

One weekend we got to babysit my in-laws dogs and they played all day outside in the warm weather which made for some very sleepy puppies in the evening. :) they much like children are so sweet when they are sleeping. :)

Madi will be coming back home soon, and mason is enjoying his 1:1 time with us and it has been fun, but we are excited to have madi back!

Mason's 16 months old!

Our little toddler has reached a magical age. 16 months is pretty fun. I've decided whatever stage your child or children are in become your favorite. Along with being a favorite stage he has picked up a few not so favorite habits. :)
Let's start with the stats.
He weighs 24.8 lbs/ 44th percentile
He is 30.5 inches tall/ 22nd percentile
His head is 20 inches/ 99th percentile.
So he follows the trait of short, a little chubby and a big head. :)
As a general rule of thumb Mason is a pretty happy little guy. He has been teething lately the last 2 molars on the top and has been more cranky than normal. So after these teeth come in the only ones he has left are two molars on the bottom. I will be grateful to have his teeth all in. It seems he has been teething forever. Poor kid has been drooling for months. It just seems to fluctuate between a steady trickle or a pouring fountain.
Mason has started developing quite the "tude". He can get real nasty and scream really loud shrieks. Not going to lie I'm not too fond of this new little attitude. He is starting to really know what he wants and isn't picking up very quickly better ways to get those things. He still doesn't use very many words. He says "bye" "uh-oh" and then has sounds that could be mom, dad, madi, and I'm pretty sure roxy.  But he isn't much of a talker yet. He will jabber and carry on conversations, but actual words that we understand are few. We are working on signing and he has "more" down but is very stubborn at learning the other ones I have repeatedly taught him. :/ a wee frustrating (ok, it may be a lot), but I'm just as stubborn so I keep trying to teach him.  He did finally sign please just recently. But it only happened once, he also mumbled something that sounded like please.... So I'm not really sure what all he is capable of. It seems as though he is holding back because his shrieks are much more fun and accomplish the same thing.
Mason is pretty scheduled oriented and is pretty consistent. Still takes a morning and afternoon nap. He still really enjoys eating. His favorite foods are pineapple, peanut butter and plums. He really likes honey nut Cheerios too. He will eat with a fork or spoon but gets frustrated, however once he sees a utensil there is no going back to finger eating. He usually ends up throwing the utensil off the high chair and then has a sad moment and then proceeds to want someone to get the food on the utensil for him and hand it to him so he can feed himself. He won't eat it if you feed him with the utensil but he gladly accepts the assistance of getting the food halfway there.
Mason has started saying prayers as well. I'll ask him to say a prayer and he bows his head and starts mumbling really softly, all the while keeping his eyes open watching us.
He also helps us get him dressed. Sometimes he will pick out clothes and then try and put them on himself even. But he does really good about stepping into his shorts and putting his arms through the holes.
Mason really likes to ride the rockin rider pony. Either his or Madison's. He loves cell phones and loves to talk on them. He actually turns just about everything into a phone and pretends to talk on it. He has also started "feeding" us. Whenever he has food and he doesn't want it anymore he starts breaking off pieces and tries to put some in your mouth. Funny boy.
Here are some pics of the cutie.

Hee hee he was loving the corn. Not real effective at getting much in... But had a lot fun trying.

Enjoying an Indian fry taco. He ended up with some on his head so we decided it was safer with the hood on.

The M&M's jammin our in the car while I cleaned it out. Way too funny.

Sweet boy... Always so sweet when sleeping.

He was loving throwing rocks in the river with a little bit of help from dad.

Now he's happy.....

And now he's not. I see this face much more than I would like to. :)

We love our little mason man. So glad he is part of our family.
